  • After promising her mother to return before her father comes home, Naoko ran towards Jack's yard.
  • Jack gave Naoko the permission to help him finish his snowman.
  • While Naoko was helping Jack, Jack told her that he will build his snowman with three snowballs.
  • Naoko mentioned that snowmen have only two snowballs(one for the body and one for the head).
  • Jack disagreed with Naoko's comment and replied,'I don't think I need you to help me after all.'
  • After listening to Jack's response, Naoko felt wretched(sad) about the way things had turned out.
  • She decided to build her own snowman and moved towards her own yard.
  • Naoko rolled two balls of snow to make her snowman.

At the end of the lesson, you will be able to identify the  two parts of a sentence,  the subject and the predicate. understand how the subject and  the predicate relate to each other. Let's begin!   A  sentence  is a group of words  with a   verb   included.  Every sentence contains two parts  a  subject   and a   predicate . What is a subject? A  subject  is the person or thing that is doing an action, or the person or thing that is the focus of the sentence. Most of the time the subject comes at the beginning of a sentence, in which case it is very easy to identify. Take the example below: Mary  likes to run in the park.
