A Daughter's Love - Part 2

Welcome back !!

Hope you enjoyed reading the picture story, A Daughter's Love , which spoke about the relationship between a father and  his daughter.

I'm sure all of you have noted down the new words and their meanings from the previous blog. Today, we'll be focussing on reading comprehension.

H.W  stands for home work   
C.W   stands for class work

 H.W to be done in the English Literature (four-lined) exercise book.

At the end of today's lesson, you will be able to:-

  •  make inferences based on the comprehension of the text.
  • apply the understanding of the story to answer the questions.
  • use contextual clues to infer the meaning of unfamiliar words from the context.

Let's move ahead!

TASK 1:- C.W ( Read the given sentences . Do them neatly in the reader itself . In case you don't have your reader, you could do the answers in a rough note book.)

A. Arrange the sentences in sequential order ( number them correctly from 1 to ) as per the storyline.  (Page no. 6 & 7) One has been done for you in red.
  •      King Lear had three daughters- Goneril, Regan and Cordelia .              ---1---
  •      Later, his two older daughters were cruel towards him.                            ------
  •      Cordelia's answer did not please King Lear and he disowned her.           ------
  •      Cordelia was very happy to be united with her father.                                -----
  •      One day he set his daughters to a test to see who loved him the most.       ------
  •      Cordelia and Lear were brought to the same prison  , where they met each other                  after a long time.                                                                                                  -----
  •      The heart-broken king left his second daughter's house.                            -----


TASK 2:- H.W  (to be done in the exercise book after word-meaning)
( Find the antonyms / opposites of the given words from the picture story. You may take help from the options provided in  green.)

TASK 3 :-  C.W     (  Choose the correct option :-  Type the question number with its corresponding  answer /option number in the comment box below)

4. How did Cordelia meet Lear in the end?
