ONCE UPON A TIME ( BLOG 2)

Welcome back to the Poem boys 😊😊
Today you are going to read the explanation of the poem and understand what it means.
LET'S STARTπŸ‘Š
STANZA1
Once upon a time
In a house so big and wide
The family that lived there
Were so happy inside.

TASK 1 CW
Type the adjectives used for the house _________ and ___________
From the 1st stanza let's understand that
A happy family lived in a big house.
__________________________________________

STANZA 2
There was mommy and daddy
Two little boys and girls;
Every night they would gather
In the living room, they would twirl.

TASK 2 CW
How many family members lived in the house?

From the 2nd stanza let's understand that
The family comprised (was made up of ) of  six members who would get together in their living room every night to spend some recreational(activities done for enjoyment)time like dancing and singing. The word twirl denotes a movement of turning round and round on your tip toe while dancing.

STANZA 3
They danced and sang sweet songs there,
How close the family was!
The love was great they shared,
You see, they showed they cared.

From the 3rd stanza let's understand that
There was a great bond of love and care between the children and the parents and they were very close to each other.

TASK 3 CW
What does the phrase very close to each other actually mean? Type the correct option
a.They understood each other well
b.They stood by each other in difficult times
c.They helped each other
d.All the above
 ____________________________________________
STANZA 4
Remember that your family
Can be the same way too,
Just trust and love each other
And share each others thoughts.
Because you need your family
To communicate a lot.

From the 4th stanza let's understand that
The poetess is telling the reader that our own family can be the happiest family if
  • we trust and love each other
  • we tell each other what is in our mind. One word for this is communicate.
Nobody can read what is in our mind so if we want a happy relationship we need to communicate / tell what is in our mind to avoid misunderstandings. She also tells us how many times should we communicate. a lot is the answer.
____________________________________________
STANZA 5
And as you all grow older
You will always know,
In times of trials and troubles
To your family you can go.

TASK 4 CW
trials and troubles are  the_______ we face

From the 5th stanza I understand that
In the end the poetess tells the young readers that as life goes on we will be facing many difficult and challenging situations. It is then we will know the importance of the support we get from a loving family to face our problems bravely.
Do you agree with the message the poetess is giving us through this poem?

TASK 5 CW
