CH-1 part 3

Welcome back to a new day of learning! Hope you have read and understood the story , A  Daughter's Love, well.
  Check if you have:-

• covered your Literature exercise book neatly.
• left the first page of your  exercise book for making the index.
• written  the date and the lesson name neatly on the top line of the second page . 
• underlined the heading and the date, using a ruler.
• noted down the new words learnt and their meanings neatly by dividing the page into two columns as instructed in the previous blog.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:-

• answer questions in context of the given extract.
• apply comprehension skills.
• interpret and analyse the characters and situations occurring in the lessons to answer appropriately in grammatically correct sentences.

Yesterday we began with TASK 1 (  i.e arranging sentences in sequential order.) I'm sure you have the answers ready with you now. Take a pencil( any colour  would do) and quickly check if you arranged the sentences correctly. The first answer was 1.( done in red if you can recall) . The remaining ones are as follows:-

TASK 3  was done in the previous blog, so without wasting time , we move onto TASK 4 .(  Answering questions). Go through your answers and make changes wherever necessary. 

  Remember to draw a line with a ruler and a pencil after each answer.

Ans 1. King  Lear decided to divide his kingdom among his three daughters as he was becoming old.

Ans 2.* Goneril told Lear that he was dearer to her than her eyesight or life. No child had ever loved her father more than she loved him.

. *Regan lied by saying that she was the happiest when she's able to serve Lear , her father.

Ans 3. Cordelia replied that she loved her father as she should. Neither more nor less.

Ans 4. After the French army was defeated by the English, Cordelia was imprisoned. It was in prison that she met her father, Lear.

Q5. Why do you think Lear was unhappy about Cordelia's reply?

( Clues for you.............he found it hard to believe..... ..she only felt a sense of duty......not loved him greatly)

Q6. How do we know Cordelia truly loved her father?

  (  Clues for you............. did not make a show of her love.....did not stop worrying about his health.........decided to attack England  and rescue Lear despite being disowned by him.......was concerned about him till the end..........)
